The Problem
800,000,000 Million people are starving in our global community; 14,000,000 Million children under the age of 12 here in America go to bed without dinner. Our planet is polluted. We are ingesting toxins. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the world's natural resources & food supply are critically contaminated and artificially limited. By understanding our world Eco-System, we easily see that the resulting starvation, pollution, & disease have reached obvious global & epidemic proportions. NISL recognizes that these life-threatening conditions are unnecessary; and are clearly the result of intentionally uneven distribution of resources. As a species, we have collectively chosen to create these problems, and we thus have the collective responsibility to solve them, together.

THE PRICE
Whole ecosystems and Rain-Forests are being destroyed; as well as entire dead regions of the ocean.

THE SYMPTOMS
In 3rd world countries, starvation and disease are a fact of life, a given. People in the United States of America have a tendency to think of hunger in terms of mass starvation in far-off continents; however as stated above 14 million children are estimated not to have enough food for an active healthy life. Senior citizens and many other low income individuals feel unable to afford first-rate, high-quality, nutritious food. Yet most people are too distracted with their own economic survival to even notice or care.
NISL has decided to take action! NISL knows that it is our duty to take responsibility for the current state of our planetary Eco-System, as well as the resulting food & water problems; just as surely as responsibility comprises 'the ability to respond'. Because of human suffering alone, it is ethically unconscionable to simply stand by and watch our Eco-System problems deteriorate further, with the valuable knowledge and skills gained thus far.

THE SOLUTION
THE TIME IS NOW - Faced with the same problems, many capable eco-groups have thrown in the towel, having been brick-walled by corporate pressures or otherwise artificial regulation. However thanks to these groups, such concepts as permaculture, renewable resources, self-sustainability, and synergy are well-established and proven. Now we will be simply sharing valuable knowledge to help those who are less fortunate! Clearly the demand for clean water and fresh, highly nutritious, locally grown, organic food is critical; even amongst those who appear to be well-fed with junk-food. Therefore, NISL proposes a fresh look at year-round high-yield healthy food & water production, and how to make this very basic process a viable small-scale business and survival activity for families and communities worldwide.

THE VISION
As stated, NISL recognizes that there is an abundant supply of sunlight, space and water and other basic resources on this planet for everyone to coexist without creating artificial shortages and life-threatening problems. We know that we can instead learn to make the best use of our resources, engage in equitable trade, restore damaged resources, and survive together in clean, vibrant health! An easy way to remember this vision is FEEWW (Food, Education, Employment, Water, and Wellness).
With these Alliances we can build and operate a pilot community of Sustainable Living and Developpment Centers (or SLDC), to teach the simplest most efficient methods to produce food and live healthy in our modern environment. These Sustainable Living and Development Centers will also train and educate others to start similar projects and centers around the world! This process will begin with basic constructive steps, using simplified economics and proven and effective techniques. These techniques include revolutionary and proven technologies such as, Aquaponics, Indoor Gardening, Green House and Vertical farming, Water Purification, Solar and Wind Technology, and More!

RESULTS
By developing and demonstrating a single operational SLDC, a small group of ordinary people will have set a compassionate example that many others may follow. As the simplified technology and design of the Sustainable Living and Development Center is shared, each student/trainee can then facilitate the next SLDC project in his/her home community. Gradually, through sharing and replication, a large group of ordinary people will have created extraordinary global results!
The Sustainable Living and Development Center concept is a place where people from everywhere can come and experience for themselves, the wisdom of sharing simple techniques, and the rewards of helping others survive. With hands-on in-situ demonstrations of its integrated technologies, the Sustainable Living and Development Center is a complete community resource and agricultural facility for –
A. producing year-round abundant healthy food and clean water, for –
B. rendering emergency disaster relief to outlying communities, for –
C. educating and training, for –
D. stimulating the local small-farm business economy, and for –
E. restoring the communities natural resources and culture. The Sustainable Living and Development Center will maintain a full-time staff, assigned by NISL from within its growing network of advisors and alliances.

EDUCATION
At each Sustainable Living and Development Center, the National Institution of Sustainable Living Foundation will maintain an on-site Institute which offers cross-training degree programs and certifications in: greenhouse production, horticulture, sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, ecolonomics, restoration science, limnology, herbal nutrition, blue/green technology, recycling/filtration techniques, solar/wind/hydro technologies, and eco-community development. Original accreditation is planned through dual-enrollment relationships with the allied institutions listed, a system which has been proven in Tribal college establishments.

INITIATIVES
In support of this solution NISL has adopted grass-roots initiatives to address the problems cited:
(1) sharing of valuable techniques (Open Source), (2) proven efficient technology made simple & affordable, (3) simplified commerce based on equal exchange of goods/services, (4) 'Pay-It-Forward' sharing of product revenues by simple trade, (5) sponsored scholarships and distance learning educational programs, (6) on-site project/habitats which duplicate the environments in starving communities, (7) international travel to needy communities to personally demonstrate simple hands-on techniques to the people.

TECHNOLOGY
The relevant technologies exist and are proven. All ANPRC Sustainable Living and Development Centers techniques are the simplest, most efficient, and thereby offer vast improvements over traditional methods, whether large-scale or small-scale. Through a wise combination of NISL methods with ecolonomics and restorative skills, small-scale food & water production is a viable community and family-business activity.

LOCAL SUPPORT
During the NISL Sustainable Living and Development Centers construction, jobs will be created in support of the local economy. With on-site production of valuable food and water NISL will also stimulate the local economy. Through each SLDC facility, NISL will provide greenhouse-grown foods to generate revenue and support NISL humanitarian Foundation's non-profit assistance to those who currently go to bed malnourished in both industrialized and non-industrialized nations of the world.

HUMANITARIAN IMPLICATIONS
Eventually, through the wisdom of sharing, we will make a difference in the world's food and water resources. People once starving and sick soon become well-nourished and healthy. This venture will also bring in significant revenue through education programs and selling wholesome produce and other products as well as starting satellite start-up companies. We as a company will take personal responsibility for helping mankind into a healthier and brighter future!
